2) Eat Right
A well-balanced diet, containing whole grains, proteins, fruits and vegetables, is important to the health of your skin as well as everywhere else in your body! The types of fats used in your diet are also a factor for acne control. Avoid foods that are made in oil that has been heated and re-used, like fast food fried chicken or french fries. These oils contain particularly harmful toxins. Use olive oil at home rather than vegetable oils, as vegetable oils contain omega-6 fatty acids which promote inflammation.

In the last few years, there has been increased interest in the low-glycemic diet (foods that convert to sugars slower rather than faster). The affects of a high-glycemic diet directly relate to systemic triggers for acne eruptions. High-glycemic content foods are those that are refined and processed, and foods that have a high carbohydrate content of the types easily digested. These foods convert faster than whole foods, causing sharp increases in insulin production. A diet high in simple carbohydrates causes more highs and lows in insulin production.

How does that relate to inflammation? Spikes in insulin and increase pro-inflammatory eicosanoids, like omega-6 EFAS, which inflame the body and contribute to a large number of diseases.

Omega-3 fatty acids:

Vitamin A aids in the skin-healing process, and it is contained in your fish oil supplement. However, you can take 25,000 units twice a day to aid in healing.

Take 50 mg with 5 mg copper, because zinc can cause a slight deficiency in copper.
There are lots of formulas for how much water a certain person with a certain body weight under certain conditions needs. A simple rule is to drink the 8 glasses a day that you've always known you're supposed to drink. Just do it!
Our bodies have a high water content, about 70%. Water is involved in circulation, digestion, absorption and excretion. Water will help wastes move through your kidneys and colon and out of your body, flushing out toxins that would escape through your skin if not expelled through your kidneys and colon. If your kidneys aren't able to work due to insufficient water, some of the work they're unable to do has to go to the liver, which then has to work harder and cannot clear excess hormones, worsening acne. Simply enough, drinking a sufficient amount of water to help your kidneys and liver function is one of the best natural acne cures, from the inside out.
Drink your 8 glasses a day! Coffee, tea and sodas don't count, and they can add further complications in the form of caffeine, sugar or chemicals.
Getting enough sleep is as important for acne as it is for under-eye circles and wrinkles.
For acne in particular, lack of sufficient sleep can:
*Raise stress levels by making it more difficult to cope with the stressors of daily life
*Trigger variations in hormone levels that can contribute to increased sebum production in many people
*Lower your immune response to the infections that characterize acne
Of course, sleep needs vary according to the individual. Average optimal sleep ranges from 7.5-8.5 hours a night. Sleep is restorative as a time of growth and rejuvenation for the nervous and immune systems, and lack of sleep has been shown to affect wound healing.
Change your pillowcase and bedding often, to cut down on exposure to bacteria. Oils and dead skin cells can be trapped in the fibers of bedding, creating a lovely soup for the growth of more bacteria, which then transfers back to your skin. If you really want to cut down on the bacteria where your face lies for a third of your day, use clean, white pillowcases that have been washed with bleach and rinsed well (so that residual bleach doesn't irritate your skin).
There are anti-bacterial pillows on the market which will take care of the bacteria issue under your pillowcase. Latex-made pillows are not only antibacterial and dust-roof, they have hundreds of holes in the foam that allow better air circulation throughout the night, don't allow moisture to build up, and provide support the spine for a better night sleep.

Sorry, but it's true. Exercise can benefit your acne in a number of ways. It will increase blood flow to your skin, increasing the oxygen supply to your skin and organs, as well. That means your organs can process and release toxins more efficiently, relieve stress and balance hormones. All great things for acne, not to mention the wonderful effects exercise has on your physical well-being and mood!
Showering after exercise is very important to wash away the perspiration and dirt so that it doesn't settle on your skin and create a bacterial environment.
7) Don't Touch!
Keep your hands away from your face unless you are working with your skin care. Do not touch, pick or rub your face throughout the day. It's hard to keep your hands away from bumps or scabs on your face, but it's important not to transfer more bacteria on to an affected area.
This one little habit will make a huge difference with healing times of existing pimples, and will help prevent new ones from forming. Nothing you can do in the way of natural acne cures will help unless your keep your germ-laden fingers away from your face!
