Aloe Vera Softening Face Scrub

• 1 T aloe vera gel
• 1 t honey
• 2 T finely ground oatmeal

Grind oatmeal in the coffee grinder, blender or food processor until finely ground. Mix all ingredients together. Massage over dampened skin in circular motions and rinse with warm water.

Aloe Vera Recipes for Masks

Oily/Combination Skin Mask:

Aloe vera can add a non-oily moisturizing element to clay masks for oily skin.

• 1 t aloe vera juice clay
• 1 t clay, french green or fuller's earth
• 1 t witch hazel * enough water to make a paste
• 1 drop tea tree oil
• 1 drop lavendar essential oil

Mix all ingredients together, adding drops of water if necessary to thin the aloe/clay mixture. Apply to cleansed skin for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Dry/Combination Skin Mask:

Mix equal parts aloe vera gel and honey. Keep this in the refrigerator for a cooling, softening daily treat! After cleansing skin, apply and leave on 15-20 minutes. Rinse with tepid water.

Aloe C Sun Repair Gel

Aloe vera is a skin repairing remedy for sunburn, and the addition of vitamin C makes this gel unstoppable! However, vitamin C can oxidize quickly, so use immediately. Don't save any unused Gel mixture.

Vitamin C:

• helps restore collagen and elastin

• helps repair sun damage

To add the powerful effects of vitamin C to your aloe vera gel:

• 1/2 C aloe vera gel
• 1/4 t l-ascorbic acid

Mix well and apply after sun exposure, or just to moisturize with additional topical vitamin C.

Aloe Healing Mask

This masque is good for irritated, sensitive skin.

• 2 T aloe gel
• 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Blend aloe and yogurt together. Refrigerate for an hour and spread on face. After 15 minutes, rinse gently with a cool cloth.

Soothing Facial Oil

This is an antioxidant blend that will soothe irritated skin that has been over-exposed to the elements, winter or summer.

• 1 T aloe vera juice
• 1 T extra-virgin olive oil
• 1 T rosehip seed oil
• 2 drops Roman chamomile essential oil

Mixed together, these oils with aloe vera will soothe and repair irritated skin. Rosehip seed oil contains vitamin A, which assists with cell regeneration.

Aloe Acne Treatment

This can be used as a spot treatment, applied directly to spots. You can also make this into a toner treatment by diluting it with witch hazel, 1/4 treatment to 3/4 witch hazel, and apply with a cotton pad.

• 1 T aloe vera juice
• 1 T honey
• 8-10 drops teatree oil
• 1000 mg. vitamin c (either a crushed tablet or 1 t l-ascorbic acid)

Combine all ingredients well and store in a small cosmetic jar. This can be stored up to 6 months. The vitamin C not only heals skin, it also acts as a preservative.
